I've just downloaded Canon UFR II Printer Driver v2.43 for Macintosh Mac OS X 10.5.8 to 10.8.x from the Canon Global download centre to install on my recently acquired MacBook and after download up pops a dialogue box saying 'The following disk images couldnt be opened.' The problem is when you attempt to connect the Mac to the Canon printer via USB, it isn't recognized. In the mac printer dialog it says 'Contact the printer manufacturer for drivers'. So you go to the Canon website and try to find drivers for the OSX Yosemite / El Cap and they say 'Apple includes these drivers'. Canon has just updated their driver for canon 3000 on the official website, but the old patch is still available for canon 2900 to run on the latest macos version, catalina 10. Have just updated your mac, but the cannon driver 2900 did not work on your mac. I am having the same issue. I am unable to add our Canon I-Adv 6065 printer to my computer. I have followed these instructions deleting all Canon Printer Drivers, emptying the trash, and then resetting the mac printer system. I have downloaded the new driver for Big Sur from Canon but am unable to install it. This scanner has an infrared lamp for scanning film. VueScan's 'Filter | Infrared clean' option can be used to remove dust spots from film scans. This is similar to (and we think better than) the ICE and FARE algorithms.

Catalina

It scans with visible light in the first pass and with infrared light in the second pass.

Infrared cleaning works well with all types of color negative and color slide film, including Kodachrome. However, silver-based black/white film doesn't work with infrared cleaning because the silver particles look the same in visible light and infrared light.

You need to install the Canon driver to use this scanner on Windows x86, Windows x64 and Mac OS X. On Windows x64, you need to use VueScan x64 to use this scanner's transparency adapter.

This scanner is supported on Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) and later if you first install the Canon drivers for Mac OS X 10.6 or later (these will work on newer versions of Mac OS X). Also, run the x32 (not x64) version of VueScan with these drivers.
