There are several options for installing Git on macOS. Note that any non-source distributions are provided by third parties, and may not be up to date with the latest source release.

Homebrew

• Reinstall macOS. Select Reinstall macOS from the utilities window in macOS Recovery, then click Continue and follow the onscreen instructions. Follow these guidelines during installation: If the installer asks to unlock your disk, enter the password you use to log in to your Mac. If the installer doesn't see your disk, or it says that it can't.
• Install DiskMaker X 9 on your Mac by dragging the app icon to the Applications folder alias as shown by the gray arrow on the installer window. Xcode

Apple ships a binary package of Git with Xcode.

Tim Harper provides an installer for Git. The latest version is 2.32.0, which was released 20 days ago, on 2021-07-21.

Building from Source

If you prefer to build from source, you can find tarballs on kernel.org. The latest version is 2.32.0.
