There’s still no mention of a universal app or DirectX 12 and Vulkan support, but given the fact that work on this project has restarted, such improvements are very likely to land, if not now, certainly at some point in the future - probably in version 4.0, when bigger changes make a little bit more sense.

Our developers are currently working on the next version of Fraps (3.6.0) which will include official support for Windows 10, as well as other minor bug fixes and improvements. Unfortunately I am unable to provide you with a release date, however we do hope to have it available for download from our website as soon as possible. I apologize for the inconvenience in the meantime,” Beepa explains in the email.
Since many thought that FRAPS was dead, users have already turned to alternative solutions, including FCAT, which does require expensive hardware but also comes with super advanced features. And yet, there’s no doubt that the relaunch of FRAPS will get everyone’s attention, so hopefully, we won’t have to wait too long before this happens.
